SATELLITE BEAVER - The Last Bow Review

Satellite Beaver are a hard rocking Sludge/Stoner Metal Band from Poland.

The members are:

Simon the beaver – vocals, guitars
Tom the beaver – guitars
Mad the beaver - drums
[place your name here] – bass guitar (searching for new one at the moment)

Satellite Beaver play a hard hitting blend of Stoner, Sludge, Doom and Hard Rock to brilliant head-banging effect.

Here is a great bio for this hugely talented band.

"Have you ever tried to imagine yourself space, hairy dozer furious enough to destroy planets? No wonder you did not, but now it’s about time to confront one face to face.

Formed in Warsaw in 2008, Satellite Beaver search for their own style and they are more stubborn than Sisyphus itself. Inspired by traditional grunge and stoner rock genres, band came a long way through different influences what in practice means searching for thickest guitar strings and biggest crash cymbals ever created. What’s more, they dared to spread their “tune it lower” philosophy during live performances with local and foreign stoner bands such as Belzebong, Luna Negra / Tres Perros, Karma To Burn or Mars Red Sky.

Satellite Beaver are preparing brand new material for debut album release, but before that happens, some chapters have to be closed. That’s why “The Last Bow” EP came out (actually is about to come at May 2012). It contains 4 tracks composed in 2010-2011, which gives some point of view at direction the band moves toward: from catchy, rock’n’rollin’ ‘Way before’, through classic stoner ‘Pershing’ and slower ‘Urania’ to gloomy and massive ‘Roadtrip’ track, which is closest to style band’s digging at the moment."

The guys give me a copy of their new EP - The Last Bow. And its an absolute blast of heavy hard hitting riffs from start to finish. It maybe only on for 18 minutes but what an action packed 18 minutes the guys have in store for people.

It's only 4 songs long but the band's talent truly shines through especially on Urania. A 4 minute balls-to-the wall thrill ride that will have you begging for more. It blends the genres with ease to hear something fresh that will have you playing air-guitar in no time.

The riffs are played loud from start to finish. Satellite Beaver are on a mission to get the job done of entertaining the listener in the short amount of time available. And they succeed on every fucking level.

My fave track has to be "Road Trip" A 5:23 minute track that showcases what this band does brilliantly well. Blending NOLA style riffage with their own take on modern Grunge/Sludge/Stoner Metal.

Satelitte Beaver are loud from the word go. And they never stop until the closing seconds. It's a shame this EP is only on for 18 minutes as when I was totally getting into it, time was fully over. So I pressed repeat over and over again.

The Production is superb on this release. It sounds loud and clear from start to finish. The band are one of the tightest bands I have heard on record this year. This a band on the same wavelength.

These guys would go down a fucking storm on the live stage. This is another great band coming from Poland. A country that is releasing some top-notch Stoner/Sludge Metal bands like Major Kong and Cerber. Now add Satellite Beaver to that list.

I can't wait to see what these guys can do with a full length record. But back to this EP. The Last Bow should gain this great band a whole set of new fans and they deserve as much success they can possibly get.

A great EP from a great band and one I expect great things from.

The Last Bow is available to buy directly from the band. Headover to their  BandCamp Page and download their excellent 2009 EP -Trip Outside Your Mind for free now. Another great release.

Highly Recommended.
